“Days are Delicate #1” of a series of 5. These paintings are meditations inspired by nature, the passage of time, and the range of emotions and and states that may happen over the course of a day, a season, a year…mirth, sadness, simplicity, messiness, imperfection, beauty…all of these things and more. In making these pieces, I observed the negative spaces surrounding the initial fields of color, and wanted to evoke the feeling of nature through minimal mark-making, infusing the work with an airy, lyrical botanical feeling.
